Oracle Laser were one of the principal developers of lasers for use in nightclubs.

Their early products were based around the gas laser tube, where the "head" of their flagship product (the Septor) weighed in at around 130kg, with another 50kg for the power supply unit.

Each unit required a 3 phase 32A mains supply, and a continuously running water supply to cool it (straight from the tap).

This device used an arrangement of crystals to produce colours from a pure white beam.

The colours that were not used were reflected to one side (as so were wasted). They became available for use when a second head was introduced by the designer, Paul Mazlin.

This potentially enabled all the colours of the spectrum to be played out the two heads of the Septor, and elevated the Septor to become one of the most legendary night club lasers systems on the world.

Move on a few years, and time has changed.

Diode based lasers have replaced the gas powered units. The new diodes are vastly lighter, requires substantially less power, can be lifted by 2 people, and are air-cooled.
