Ruby Trance Volume 18
The music production software is becoming more mature, meaning that the sounds produced can become more detailed. Trance producers seem to have taken advantage of this, particularly this year, and this is reflected in our latest album.
CD1 opens with Emily’s lullaby, and the very catchy treatment by Daniel Kandi. In track 2 we welcome back the luscious voice of Zoe Johnstone in Alice’s Door. Track 3 has some delicious sounds in Gareth Emery and Ashley Wallbridge’s Kingdom United. In track 4 we welcome Emoiryah to our albums in Lost In The City. Listen to the developing complexity of sounds across Track 5, 6, 7 and 8. The energy is also building rapidly, leading us to Cold Blue’s masterpiece Colors. We don’t like long breakdowns in the music because it impacts the dance floor (people get tired of standing around). The breakdown on Colors is whopping 2:30. But! The sounds that he produces as he weaves a journey across the breakdown, are simply amazing. You need to put some headphones on, close your eyes and just listen to where this track goes as it builds to this incredible peak.
Track 9 is a necessary gear change to bring us back down to earth, with Craig Connelly’s remix of Ferry Tale and Poppy’s The Way Back Home. Come What May is just fun, and very easy to sing along to. The sounds keep evolving through each of the next tracks, leading us to the closing track Paradise Cove by Simon O’Shine. The sounds in this track remind us of Ace Da Brain’s masterpiece, Magic Waters (closing track on Volume Six).
CD2 opens with Ben Gold’s The City Sleeps Tonight, and them moves into All Through The Night by 4 Strings. The huskiness of Susan Tuetenberg’s voice in her first few words (about 5:41 into the CD) takes your breath away. The big synths also make their first appearance in this track. Track 3 has more luscious sounds, and more synths. Track 4 is the very popular Lights Around The World by Craig Connelly. The sounds in Track 5 are just wonderful (headphones required). Every track on CD2 is exceptional, and keeps building the energy and complexity of sounds up to the peak track of Dream Like I Do by Darren Porter and featuring Ana Criado.
The last 3 tracks complete your journey, all with fantastically different sounds. Yum !!
